Making Your Custom Qipao
Whether you're just starting to learn about qipao, or are a qipao aficionado, you can bring your dream qipao to life through our Custom Qipao Program - one that reflects your style and personality and that you'll want to wear every day!
We want the process to be creative, fun, and easy, so our stylists will work closely with you to ensure that every detail of your new qipao is 😘
We've updated our ordering process for 2023 to make it easier for you to plan for your custom qipao! In general, the whole process may take 3 months or more, from start to finish.
Here's how it works:
1. Check out our 2023 Qipao Drop Dates
We have 4 production cycles a year. Keep an eye on the Qipao Drop deadlines to ensure that your qipao will arrive in time for your event. The design process can take 2 weeks or more, and production and shipping takes about 10 weeks, so account for this in your timing!
2. Create an Account
Or, you can log in if you already have an account. You'll be able to access your online Qipaoya Design Studio where we'll collaborate on your design.
3. Fill out the Design Form
Tell us what you're looking for in your dream qipao: the style, fabric, pattern, colors, special details and more. You'll submit a $75 deposit to initiate the design process.
4. Review and Approve Design Sketches
Your custom qipao will come to life in sketch form along with some fabric options based on the information you submitted in the Design Form. We'll do 2 rounds of design revisions before you approve the final design and fabric selection. Then, you'll receive a final quote and pay the full balance.
5. Take Your Measurements
We'll walk you through how to take your measurements at home for a perfect fit. We'll also confirm your final design and fabrics.
6. Confirm Your Spot in the Qipao Drop
If this checklist is complete before the Qipao Drop deadline, we'll confirm your spot in it!

If you miss one Qipao Drop deadline, keep an eye on the deadline for the next Qipao Drop.
7. Production Phase
We'll order fabric and work with our qipao workshop to cut and sew your custom qipao. Once complete, your qipao will be carefully inspected and packed for shipping.
8. Your Custom Qipao Arrives
